My Work
The Overview...
Historical Fiction
Gritty Historical Realism
Four series, consisting of seventeen novels, serve as the core of my early work. There is even another standalone novel. None of these are for the faint of heart. They are action-packed adventures in a wide range of settings, often focused on military history. I dig into Norse explorers, Germanic tribesmen fighting ancient Rome, the Islamic conquest of Spain, Napoleonic Europe, and even the French & Indian War.
Historical Fantasy
More Real Than Real?
I've come to believe that there is a lot of truth to be discovered in the fantasy realm that can help us identify problems in our own. My third historical fantasy novel is currently pouring from my mind and fingers. It is a compelling, adventurous work that will tear away the veil between the spiritual and physical worlds without any boring nonsense. My first historical fantasy novel had it all. Time travel, swashbuckling pirates, conquistadors, and amusement parks. The second one was written under a pen name (Emily Hawk). It takes a page from Polish history and turns it into a tale of knights, betrayal, and a persistent ghost.
Check out my blog, 'Mad Musings', where I share historical nuggets, writing insights, or reflections on a host of things that pique my interests - hopefully yours, too!

The Standalone Novels
Forbidden lovers in Napoleonic Europe. A line of kings stretching a thousand years at risk. Or, 500 years ago, a boy from 100 years ago made a discovery that sets magic free today. Take your pick. Cold (and some romantic) history in On Love & War. Historical fantasy in Girl King under my pen name. And wonderful timeslip historical fantasy for all ages in League of the Lost Fountain.
